GuitarChords has arrived!

Free-to-use online guitar chord software, featuring an interactive chord finder and library of a wide variety of chords & scales.

Sorry, the software currently only works with Internet Explorer, but I'm working on versions for Firefox and Opera - please check back soon. In the mean time, please revisit this page using Internet Explorer to get access to the software.

Learn any chord in any position:
1. select it from the menus
2. click one of the fret positions to choose where your hand would go.
3. all the notes from the chosen chords/scale are shown on the fretboard

Find out what that chord you just invented is actually called:
1. click out the shape on the interactive fretboard
2. strings can be muted by clicking the position twice; select fret 0 for open strings
3. possible chords & scales are shown on the right
4. any perfect match or inversion found for your chord will be highlighted
5. click any of the matching chords/scales to auto-select that setting from the controls

Other features
• Select from a variety of guitar variations and similar instruments
• Choose fretboard display direction and no. of frets to show
• Choose whether to view notes as sharps or flats
